What?

IN ARMS - Indiana Addiction Recovery Month Symposium is an interagency collaborative training effort focused on services for individuals with substance and gambling addiction to increase probability of individual recovery and decrease probability of individual relapse and incarceration. Specifically, a five (5) day training symposium for Access to Recovery, Corrections, Community Corrections, and Addiction Treatment professionals will present current and effective evidenced-based practices (EBP) and other effective strategies toward a cooperative and coordinated approach to facilitate recovery from addiction in persons within these multiple systems. Participants in the training will include mental health and addiction professionals from DMHA certified Managed Care Providers (MCP), Community mental health Center (CMHC), Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP), Access to Recovery (ATR) providers, and Indiana Department of Correction methamphetamine treatment units, therapeutic treatment communities, community correction programs, as well as other community treatment and recovery oriented providers.

Outcomes of the symposium include: 1) concurrent training of DMHA, IDOC, ATR, MCP, CMHC and community treatment and recovery professionals on the latest evidenced-based practices and other effective methods to increase recovery and decrease relapse in addiction, including events leading to incarceration; 2) determining, clarifying and managing roles, responsibilities, requirements and barriers each group experiences in assisting individuals with addiction; and 3) structuring and encouraging opportunities for enhanced communication, cooperation and collaboration among these professionals toward recovery of people with addiction in these systems.

Education

Certificates of attendance will be available at IN ARMS and can be used toward CEU's.

Where to Eat

IN ARMS will offer a boxed lunch and beverage included with your daily registration of $15.00 or you may eat at the hotel restaurant, The Marker Restaurant which has an all-you-can-eat pasta bar.

From the East
--From I-70, take I-70 West to the Sam Jones Expressway (formerly Airport Expressway) and turn right. Take the Executive Drive exit (1st exit). Hotel is at the end of the ramp. --From I-74, take I-74 West to I-465 South to the Sam Jones Expressway (formerly Airport Expressway) and turn right. Take the Executive Drive exit (1st exit). From the North
--From I-65, I-69, or US 31, take to I-465 West to I-465 South to the Sam Jones Expressway (formerly Airport Expressway). Bear to the left and proceed to the far right lane as soon as possible. Take the Executive Drive exit (1st exit). Hotel is at the end of the ramp.

From the South
