2010 Indiana Addiction Recovery Month Symposium

This conference will bring together participants, speakers, and panelists from throughout the State of Indiana and the Nation to learn and share knowledge on addiction and evidence-based practices. This conference builds upon the 2009 IN ARMS attended by over 300 people.

The cost for IN ARMS is $20 per person, per day, or $50 for all three days.

Education

Certificates of attendance will be electronically sent following the IN ARMS and may be accepted for Continuing Education Units (CEU's) or Contact Hours (CH) by many credentialing organizations. Please check with your organization if in doubt. A maximum of 17.0 Continuing Education Units (CEU's)/Contact Hours (CH) is planned for the conference. Registration fee is less than $3.00 per Hour!

Who should attend?

Prevention specialists, treatment professionals and any others interested in and affected by addiction, mental health, and recovery, including Access to Recovery, Corrections, Community Corrections, addiction prevention and treatment providers, comprehensive community mental health centers, and any professionals currently seeking knowledge in addiction and mental health, and working with evidenced-based practices (EBP) and other effective strategies toward a cooperative and coordinated approach to facilitate recovery from addiction and promotion of mental health for persons within these multiple systems, may benefit by attending IN ARMS.

Symposium Goals

  1. Concurrent training of DMHA, IDOC, ATR, MCP, CMHC and community prevention and treatment and recovery professionals on the latest evidenced-based practices and other effective methods to increase recovery and decrease relapse in addiction, including events leading to incarceration;
  2. Determining, clarifying and managing roles, responsibilities, requirements and barriers each group experiences in assisting individuals with addiction; and
  3. Structuring and encouraging opportunities for enhanced communication, cooperation and collaboration among these professionals toward recovery of people with addiction in these systems.
